Showcasing entertainers from all over the United States, Urban Injun™ Productions consists of two hip hop connoisseurs interested in bringing awareness of the hip hop culture to the native community.

U.I. will be showcasing the talents of fellow Native Americans as well as other skillful emcees of all nationalities. Our goal is to broaden the scope of the mainstream listener. We are excited to display the raw talent of independent artists out doin' their thang. Each member of the UI Squad bring to the mix unique talents to continually provide the fun, charismatic atmosphere that is Urban Injun™ entertainment.

The Original Urban Injun™

AZ Chief has been reppin 'Native Pride' on city streets since birth. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, with numerous years in the San Francisco Bay area, 'Chief has been rockin' freestyles and open-mics for almost 11 years. With television and stage production in his family roots, party planning & promotion comes natural to this 'Injun.' House parties, warehouse parties, club parties, pool parties... AZ Chief has done'em all! There's no holdin' this native back! AZ Chief first learned to rap in the "Yay" hangin' with homies from East Palo Alto. Living in the bay area exposed 'Chief to the culture of hip hop with a love and appreciation that transcended commercial rap. This would lead 'Chief to become more of a participant of hip hop; not just a listener and fan. AZ Chief is a tribal member of the Yavapai-Apache Nation at Middle Verde with Hopi lineage tracing back to 2nd Mesa, AZ.

The 1st Lady of UI

As the 1st Lady of UI, Spy has become an intricut part of Urban Injun™. Moving from Phoenix to Long Beach in '97, Spy learned the different styles and influences of hip hop. This is where the true appreciation began. Coming back to Phoenix with new experiences and a fresh start in the valley, Spy met AZ Chief and found a connection through hip hop. Becoming weekly patronages to O'Malleys freestyle night the wheels for creating their own hip hop outlet for fellow natives began to turn. With a style all her own she created the first website for UI. With her love of the night life she began to bring together the street team which has shaped itself into the "Ladies of UI." Bringing into the mix the lovely Miss Sanya, Melanie P, TaSheena and Alicia. With the core members intact, and keeping an eye out for new prospects, the 'Ladies of UI' have become well known to the hip hop community. Spy is a tribal member of the Navajo Nation hailing from Tsaile, AZ.

The Formation

In 2005, the dynamic duo created Urban Injun™ Productions. The combination has proven highly successful as the Urban Injun™ community continues to grow with bigger and better events.
